My Version of a Homemade Face Scrub

As I have probably mentioned before, I have troublesome skin.  I’ve explored everything over the years and changing my diet was a huge step forward in clearing up the psoriasis on my face and neck.

During all my research I decided that I’d like to have a go at making my own natural alternatives to skin care.   Couple that with the fact that my next little venture is to get myself trained as an Aromatherapist and you have a recipe to create recipes….

My first little experiment is this lovely face scrub, I wasn’t sure what it was going to be like but trusted my instincts and the little bit of research that I’d done.  I like the smell and the texture and best of all it doesn’t dry my face out.  So what did I put in it?

Ground Almonds – these contain Vitamin E and I’ve found when using as a scrub help to lift off the dry skin without causing damage to the bright fresh skin underneath.

Coconut Oil – because we all know the benefits of coconut oil now, this ingredient is the reason my skin feels so nice and soft after scrubbing.

Frankincense Essential Oil – this helps to combat fine lines and helps to lift and tighten skin, which now I’m in my mid thirties, every little helps.

Tea Tree Essential Oil – for the blackheads which plague my every existence….

4 Tbsp – Ground Almonds

2 Tbps – Coconut Oil

10 drops Frankincense Essential Oil

5 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil
