Finally, finally it was time to go and catch IT at the cinema.
Kind of wish I’d waited a little, the cinema was packed to the rafters and while that’s a great thing for box office, watching a horror is difficult when everyone is laughing inappropriately, chatting or one of the more bizzare things I’ve seen recently…. snapchatting shots of the film…
Never the less, I loved it. I was a big fan of the Tim Curry version, but this took it to a new level. In fairness, I’ve watched the original again since seeing the new one, and it was quite a shock. We had to laugh, I mean Tim Curry is still an incredible Pennywise but the rest of the acting… wow, we have come a long way in 27 years!
Bill Skarsgard brings just the right amount of psychotic to the clown, and I loved the kids I thought it was brilliant casting. I’m going to read the book (it’s a way down the list after Game of Thrones and half a million yoga books), but I have it on good authority that this one is far more faithful. Things like Georgie getting his arm ripped off, and various mentions of a Turtle are sure to keep the book fans happy.
I’ve seen it again in a less crowded cinema showing and it was far more creepy, can’t wait to watch it at home alone! Now, if we can get the second chapter right and not turn it into a rehash of the first, which was bad then and WORSE watching it now. I’d be super happy with that!
So, my sign from the universe. I’ve been busily trying to set myself up as a yoga teacher, since qualifying I’ve realised actually this isn’t as easy as it looks. A page I follow on Facebook was doing a giveaway for a Yogi Kick Start consultation worth £75, and I won! I’m taking it as a massive push from the Universe not to give up!
